Erika Howell is the Chief Operating Officer of The National GEM Consortium where she manages all of GEM’s operations. Prior to this, she was the Chief Finance and Operations Officer at the Center for Children’s Law and Policy (CCLP). In this capacity, Erika was responsible for the Operations and Financial Management of CCLP.
Previously, Erika worked in various roles at the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), including Director of Operations and Project Management for NSBE. During her tenure at NSBE, Erika led major projects and helped the organization implement the project management office. In addition, she assisted the organization with increasing their annual convention attendees to over 15,000 registrants. Finally, Erika was instrumental in saving the organization over $1,000,000 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Erika has a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Wilmington University in Delaware and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Hope College in Michigan. Erika also is a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
